About 138 St Helens AvenueEnigma On The Park

There’s nothing conventional about Enigma on the Park: the façade resembles that of no other building in the city, and the units within aren’t your typical condos, either. For this project, Aragon Properties Ltd. worked with the architects at Quadrangle to produce this graphic structure, whose exterior features black-and-white metal panelling in a zigzag pattern.

Constructed in 2017, 138 St Helens Avenue contains 86 Toronto lofts spread out over 9 storeys. In addition to these homes, the building also contains a gym, theatre, and lounge, as well as a rooftop terrace with fire pit and barbecues.

    The Suites

The west end Toronto condos at 138 St Helens Ave range considerably in size, with units starting at around 400 square feet and reaching to 1,000 at their largest. Everything from studios to 3-bedroom suites can be found here, and some units feature dens as well.

Instead of creating typical condo units, Quadrangle designed soft lofts for 138 St Helens Ave, some of which span multiple floors, ideal for families seeking a long term home or even Toronto condos for rent. Contributing to the loft aesthetic are elements like wide-plank hardwood flooring, reclaimed brick walls, and sliding doors.

Prospective residents can also expect to find impressive kitchens that contain quartz countertops, islands or peninsulas, and state-of-the-art appliances, while bathrooms at Enigma on the Park boast Kohler dual-flush toilets, quartz countertops, and soaker tubs or walk-in showers (or sometimes both). Most of the homes in the building also contain private outdoor spaces, in the forms of balconies or terraces.

    The Neighbourhood

Enigma on the Park is situated in the unique Brockton Village neighbourhood, where formerly industrial buildings meet residential streets. What were once warehouses along St Helens and Sterling Road are now contemporary art galleries and studio spaces of all kinds. The most notable industrial transformation in the neighbourhood in recent years was the repurposing of a factory into the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Canada (MOCA).

Right behind the MOCA is the West Toronto Railpath, yet another modern addition to Toronto’s west end. Opened in 2009, the cycling and pedestrian trail is a great way to explore this part of the city without having to deal with cars and traffic lights.

As for commercial offerings, residents can find plenty of bars, boutiques, and restaurants along both Dundas and Bloor West. Dufferin Mall is also just a short walk away, where residents can find a No Frills, a WalMart, and plenty of fashion stores.

    Transportation

While 138 St Helens Ave may be a ways away from the City Center - Toronto, this west-end address is surprisingly convenient — even for those without cars of their own. For one, Lansdowne Station on the Bloor-Danforth line takes less than 10 minutes to reach on foot. Residents can also reach a bus stop by heading two blocks east, to the corner of Lansdowne and Whytock Avenue.

Those planning to travel out of town every now and then are also in luck, thanks to the Bloor GO/UP Station that’s a 15-minute walk away from 138 St Helens Ave. The drive to this station also takes all of 5 minutes, and from there the UP Express whisks passengers up to Pearson International Airport in just 15 minutes.

As for those who prefer to drive, heading straight down Lansdowne and then continuing south on Jameson will land one at an on-ramp for the Gardiner Expressway. Bloor West can also be used to reach the 427 in no time, which comes in handy for those heading north into the suburbs.
